About Scarlett:
1) What interests you about the sciences, and what discipline are you interested in the most?
I love marine biology because I love the ocean. I live by the ocean and over time I have learned to love it and all of its creatures.
2) What do you think are the qualities of a successful scientist?
A successful scientist has to be creative and smart. They also have to be compassionate and love what they do.
3) In what way would you use science to solve a national or global problem?
I would find a way to help animals from becoming extinct or endangered. This will keep our ecosystems stable.
4) When you aren't interested in science, what are your hobbies?
Acting, singing, dancing, karate and cheer-leading. I also enjoy basketball.
5) What advice would you give rising middle-schoolers for transitioning into 8th grade classes?
I would tell them to be organized, always stay ahead in class, and stand up for what you believe in. Most importantly to follow your dreams.
